Topic: Quantum Communications
In this session, we aim to delve into quantum communications and cryptography fundamentals. We will present the activities of the Quantum Communications Group, highlighting recent field deployments and initiatives targeting the defense and genomic medicine sectors. We will also be able to share details about the deployment of the Portuguese quantum communication network in the framework of the European EuroQCI.
Bio
Armando Nolasco Pinto is a Full professor at University of Aveiro and senior researcher at Institute of telecommunications. Coordinator of quantum and integrated photonics cluster. His research interests include high-speed optical communication systems and quantum communications. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 scientific papers in international journals and conferences. Dr. Pinto is a Senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a member of the Optical Society of America (OSA), and a member of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE).
